We have two vacancies for Cargo Surveyors based in (but not confined to) Dublin Port. The successful applicants will be joining a growing team providing cargo inspection and other services to major clients in Dublin and other ports in Ireland and the U.K.
Sample, gauge and calculate ship and shore storage tanks.
Conduct draught surveys
Monitor, supervise and sample bulk cargoes
Record relevant data and observations to produce cargo transfer reports and produce results and reports in a timely manner.
Test cargo samples and record results
Work alone and always represent the Company to the highest possible standards.
The Cargo Surveyors duties involve 24/7 operations, working at heights, working on marine tankers and working in enclosed spaces.
Prior experience in the oil or chemical industry, preferably with experience in the inspection industry
Professional seagoing qualification with tanker or offshore experience. A third-level science qualification would also be acceptable.
Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication in fluent English.
Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook.
Numerate, literate and accurate.
Willingness to work unsociable hours to conform to shipping requirements.
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment including the climbing of the stairs of shore tanks.
Adherence to our and our Clients’ Health and Safety requirements and regulations.
Hold a full E.U. driving licence.
