The new and exciting position which comprises of a wide range of skill sets is a critical part of the continued success of Druid’s strategy to roll out private mobile cellular networks (2G, 3G and 4G) to business all over the world. Due to the growing demand for our solutions, Druid is expanding its Support and Insulation department and an exciting opportunity exists to join our team of engineers, deploying and supporting our software solutions. The successful candidate will play a key role in installing and deploying the latest private mobile solution to customers and also maintain the critical office services and security.
•Chief Technical Officer
•up to €40K, depending on experience
•20 days per year.
HOURS OF WORK:
•The core hours for this post will be 40 hours per week.
•Will be determined by the Managing Director or his nominee.
Duties and Responsibilities
•Installing, supporting and maintaining the server hardware and network infrastructure to run 2G, 3G and 4G mobile networks on customer sites
•Managing the company’s critical services and security (eg mail, web, VM servers and network infrastructure)
•Problem solving: understand network failure points and security holes, finding and implement solutions to fix them
•The post holder may be required to perform other duties as appropriate to the post, which may be assigned to him/her from time to time, and to contribute to the development of the post while in office.

•A Bachelor of Science or Engineering (Degree) in IT, telecommunications or equivalent.
•Evidence of progressive professional development and training.
•Post graduate qualification in a related field.
•Knowledge and understanding of networking protocols and tooling including routing, switching, firewalls, etc
•Knowledge, understanding and use of Linux operating systems and services
•Exposure to scripting languages such as Python or Bash
•Knowledge in the use of protocol debug tools e.g. tcpdump, Wireshark.
•One/two years’ experience in the telecommunications industry
•Experience working with modern IT environments and latest industry tools
•Experience in the configuration and management of virtualised environments such as Virtual Box, LXC
•A solid team player with ability to work independently.
•Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
•Understanding of network systems and different network components
•Interest in working with wireless telecommunications equipment such as mobile cellular telecommunications and sitelite links etc.
•Ability to travel outside of Ireland to customer sites if required for install or supply
•Good knowledge of Linux System administration and network engineering
•Strong knowledge and understanding of system and network security
