Public Sector - Site Engineer - Flood Defence Scheme - Strong Hourly Rates
Your new company
Your new organisation are a Public Sector Organisation that operate on behalf of the Irish Government in constructing and maintaining many old buildings, roads, rivers and canals. This specific assignment is a part of the Flood Alleviation Scheme which is underway in North County Dublin and Meath. This specific assignment is for an initial 5 weeks commencing on the second week in June. Although, it is anticipated to run for a longer period of time than this.
Your new role
Your new position as a Site Engineer assisting on the Flood Alleviation Scheme, as mentioned above, commences on the second week of June for an initial 5 week contract with the likelihood of extension. The main elements of the position include the following
Construction of reinforced concrete walls / masonry clad reinforced concrete walls,
Installation of large diameter precast concrete pipes,
Installation of precast concrete U-channels,
Installation of precast concrete culverts,
Installation of road crossings And
Associated building and civil engineering works. With main duties and responsibilities including;
Management of the day-to-day activities of a direct labour workforce of up to 20 personnel; Setting out including levelling / Total-station / GPS work; Daily record keeping including Daily Allocation Sheets and Plant Sheets; Management of sub-contractors; Providing assistance with the procurement of goods and services; Attending site meetings; Liaison with the local authority and stakeholders; Health & safety Management including developing risk assessments and method statements; Quality management; Environmental management and Cost management.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be eligible for this position it is essential that you;
Hold a Level 7 / 8 degree in Civil Engineering.
A valid Safepass Card and Valid driving licence with own vehicle. It is desirable that you;
Have at least 2 years' experience with a main contractor on the construction of civil engineering projects. To have experience on river or coastal works would also be an advantage.
What you'll get in return
In return for this you will work for a Public Sector organisation with very strong hourly rates depending on your experience level. The rate cap is between €25 - €35 P/H. (Being a contractor will also dictate these rates) You will work from Monday to Friday with the hours of 08:00 - 16:30. You will also gain great exposure working on these important projects.
